Audra Wright, a senior at McAllen ISD’s McAllen Memorial High, is one of just 26 students across Texas to be awarded a Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Scholarship.

Wright is a two-time TMEA All-State Choir member. She will receive a $2,500 scholarship. Only two students in the Rio Grande Valley earned this honor.

“Audra is an amazing musician and will be majoring in music,” McAllen ISD Fine Arts Director Jim Egger said. “Congratulations to Audra and the incredible Memorial High Choir Directors, Mr. Omar Samaniego and Ms. Kelly Lozano.”
