DHR donates $5,000 to provide toys for underprivileged children in the McAllen area

Edinburg, TX— DHR Health will partner with the McAllen Police Department for their annual “Christmas for Kids” events, which provide an extra dose of holiday cheer for children in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) as they are presented with toys, food, music and entertainment, and a holiday parade.

DHR Health is honored to donate $5,000 to the 17th Annual Christmas for Kids! In the last 14 years, DHR Health has donated over $175,000 to the McAllen Police Department for this event. DHR Health employees, physicians and their families will gather with volunteers from across the RGV to distribute toys to kids during the event on Saturday, December 22nd. Approximately 5,000 kids will receive toys donated and purchased with funds from generous members of the community.

“We are pleased to partner with the McAllen Police Department and make this a brighter Christmas for our community children,” states Marissa Castañeda, Senior Executive Vice President for DHR Health.

Team DHR will join other volunteers at the Christmas for Kids toy distribution on Saturday, December 22nd to give out toys and fruit, participate in fun games with the kids, march in the parade, and provide music and entertainment. The event will begin at 8:00 AM at the McAllen Municipal Park, located at 1601 N. Bicentennial Blvd, McAllen, TX 78501.
