The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley has established the multi-disciplinary UTRGV Center for Vector-Borne Disease (CVBD), a collaborative effort to develop a self-sustaining, research-focused center in South Texas that will study diseases like Zika, chikungunya and dengue. On April 9, the university hosted a panel event on the Edinburg Campus to formally announce and launch the center.
