DHR donates $ 10,000 to the Edinburg Police Department’s 23rd Annual “Blue Santa”

A donation of $10,000 was given by Doctors Hospital at Renaissance to provide toys, blankets, and heaters for under-privileged children in the Rio Grande Valley. 

Edinburg, TX- During this season of giving Doctors Hospital at Renaissance (DHR) is partnering with the Edinburg Police Department for the 23rd Annual Blue Santa Christmas Toy Drive. This year, the Blue Santa Toy Drive is expected to deliver approximately 3,000 toys to children in our community.

DHR was proud to present the Edinburg Police Department with a donation of $10,000 to purchase toys, blankets, and heaters for the 23rd Annual Blue Santa Toy Drive. The national event provides gifts to families in the community who might be struggling during the holiday season

“Doctors Hospital at Renaissance hopes to make this Christmas brighter for children and families in Edinburg,” states Marissa Castañeda, DHR Senior Executive Vice President. “DHR and the Edinburg Police Department share the same dedication to community, and we are proud to partner with them for the Blue Santa Christmas Toy Drive.”

Toy drop boxes are located at the Edinburg Police Department, the Edinburg Volunteer Fire Department, Edinburg City Hall, the Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library, Edinburg Boys and Girls Club, Edinburg Chamber of Commerce, Edinburg Children’s Hospital, Edinburg Parks and Recreation, and several Walgreens and Wal-Mart stores in Edinburg.

On Monday, December 21st, the Edinburg Police Department will be distributing all of the purchased and collected toys at the Edinburg Activity Center, located at 123 E. Palm Dr., Edinburg, TX 78539.
