hen Dr. Naomi D’Acolatse first drove to HOPE Family Health Center in McAllen, she felt something unexpected. “I just knew this was my place,” she recalled. “As I was driving to my interview, I felt this overwhelming sense of peace—it brought me to tears. Even before I stepped inside, I knew I belonged here.” That moment has shaped her mission as Medical Director of HOPE Family Health Center, where compassion, access, and dignity guide every decision she makes.

In honor of Epilepsy Awareness Month, DHR Health would like to remind the community of it comprehensive Epilepsy Center, which is the first of its kind, south of San Antonio, serving patients of the Rio Grande Valley. The center was founded and developed from the ground up by Dr. Leonel Jorge Favio Estofan, Medical Director of the DHR Health Epilepsy Center.

At a time when the nation faces an ongoing nursing shortage, Rio Grande Valley College (RGV College) in Pharr, Texas, celebrated a milestone that stands as a testament to resilience, leadership, and community impact — the launch of its 100th Vocational Nursing Cohort.
