A new report from the Office of the Surgeon General describes the health disadvantage among Americans and the importance of strengthening communities and improving the health of residents. The report offers recommendations on how businesses can address the U.S. health disadvantage by working with and investing in communities, while creating value, lowering business costs, and improving the health of employees and other stakeholders. The Office of the Surgeon General is starting the Community Health and Economic Prosperity (CHEP) initiative to focus on solutions to improve health and expand economic opportunities for all.
