Poor health conditions can contribute to costs and challenges for individuals, families, communities, and businesses across the United States. A new report from the Office of the Surgeon General describes the health disadvantage among Americans and the importance of strengthening communities and improving the health of residents. The report offers recommendations on how businesses can address the U.S. health disadvantage by working with and investing in communities, while creating value, lowering business costs, and improving the health of employees and other stakeholders.
