EDINBURG, Texas – The Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library has generously donated 30 new books to the Health Mobile Book Library pilot program at DHR Hospital, demonstrating the library’s commitment to community wellness and literacy. This initiative, led by Dr. A. Phillips at DHR Hospital in Edinburg, seeks to improve the hospital experience by offering patients a comforting selection of books during their stay.

The donated books will be available on a mobile cart that staff will take to patients’ rooms, allowing them to enjoy the escape and enrichment that reading provides. As the DHR Health program expands, more titles will be added, further enhancing patients’ hospital stays through the joy of reading.

“We are proud to contribute to this meaningful project,” said Letty Leija, Director of the Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library. “By providing books, we hope to make hospital stays a bit more bearable, offering comfort and entertainment through reading. It’s our way of ensuring that, even when community members can’t visit the library, the library can still come to them.”
