Effective April 6, 2020, U.S. Customs & Border Protection will reduce hours of operation along the Laredo Field Office, which includes eight ports of entry from Brownsville to Del Rio, including the two bridges that operate under the McAllen Bridge System.

Beginning Monday, April 6, Anzalduas Port of Entry will operate from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for northbound traffic only.  Hours of operation for southbound traffic will remain unchanged, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

“These new hours do not affect our southbound traffic.  These are challenging times, but together, we will get through this,” said City of Mission Mayor Ocaña.  “We must do our part to protect ourselves, practice social distancing and follow strict hygiene protocols to safeguard our communities while the bridge remains open for essential business,” Mayor Ocaña concluded.

For McAllen-Hidalgo-Reynosa, which is open 24-hours, hours of operation will remain unchanged.

“These new hours reflect actual traffic activity when people are crossing into the U.S,” said McAllen Mayor Jim Darling.  “It is very important that residents on both sides of the border take care and stay safe during these times.”
