Edinburg, TX — The Women’s Hospital at Renaissance (WHR) is excited to announce the arrival of the first baby in 2017! Delivered by Dr. Lourdes Uribe, baby Regina Martinez entered the world on January 1, 2017 at 4:07 AM. She is a healthy 6 pounds 9 ounces and 19 inches long. Not due until January 9th, Regina was quite the New Year’s surprise for mom Asbeidy Martinez of McAllen, TX.

“It is really a privilege to be a part of such milestones in the lives of families in our community—and it is extra special when it’s a New Year’s baby,” said Aida Gonzalez, Vice President at The Women’s Hospital at Renaissance. “This is one of those special moments at the hospital and WHR is proud to have delivered another healthy baby.”

“I would like to thank the staff at the Women’s Hospital at Renaissance, and my sister who used to be a nurse there. They were a great help during labor,” said Asbeidy.
