Laredo, Texas – Mr. Blas Castaneda has been appointed as Chair of the AHEC 25 Year Anniversary Celebration Gala. The event is to celebrate 25 years of AHEC service to the communities in Webb, Zapata, Jim Hogg, LaSalle, Dimmit and Duval counties. AHEC Chair Mercurio Martinez, Jr. along with various community leaders joined in congratulating Mr. Castaneda and expressing unwavering support to ensure the event is a successful gathering.

Blas Castaneda, Gala Chairman and founding AHEC Board member, has been a strong supporter of AHEC, over the years, and its menu of programs. If they (youth) succeed then we will be impacted in a positive manner” AHEC supports the same mission and “I commit myself to making sure we celebrate and create momentum to support our youth” Mr. Castaneda remarked about his role as Chairman of the Gala. The Gala will highlight the service offered to the multiple counties and the number of lives touched by the AHEC programs. The Gala is being sponsored and hosted by International Bank of Commerce in Laredo, Texas and will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at IBOC Annex Building on Jacaman Road, Laredo, Texas.
