Wegovy (semaglutide) is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist used for weight loss and weight management and to reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events. The Wegovy injection is also approved to treat noncirrhotic metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) with moderate to advanced liver fibrosis in adults.

Wegovy is available as a weekly injection and a once-daily tablet.

Stopping Wegovy, especially suddenly, can affect a person’s body and condition management goals. A person should always talk with their prescribing doctor before stopping Wegovy or any prescription medication.
