BROWNSVILLE / HARLINGEN – With only a few days left for uninsured individuals to enroll in the new federal healthcare marketplace, the latest Kaiser Health tracking poll finds that 6 in 10 Americans without health insurance coverage are unaware that this coming Monday, March 31 is the last day to sign up under the exchanges.

Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville and Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen encourage Valley residents to be aware of the impending deadline to enroll in the healthcare exchanges.  Residents can call 866-893-8446 and speak with a “Path to Health” counselor for information and enrollment assistance, or to schedule an appointment with a certified enrollment counselor at Valley Baptist in Brownsville or Harlingen.  Valley Baptist-Brownsville and Valley Baptist-Harlingen will be continuing to take appointments for enrollment assistance through April 15, for those who began the application process before the deadline, and who need additional assistance.

Additionally, Valley Baptist certified enrollment counselors will join the local non-profit organization “Lupe” at San Juan Municipal Park on Saturday, March 29 to help with enrollment efforts.
