Rio Grande Valley, Texas – IDEA Public Schools is proud to announce an exciting new academic partnership between IDEA Toros College Preparatory and The University of Texas at Austin. Beginning in the 2025–2026 school year, IDEA Toros will be the first campus in the IDEA RGV district to offer students dual enrollment credit through UT Austin’s nationally recognized OnRamps program

This pioneering initiative will allow IDEA Toros students to earn up to 30–42 college credits while still in high school, with courses offered across core content and electives. These rigorous, college-aligned courses will be taught by IDEA educators trained and supported by UT Austin faculty. Students will receive two transcripts—one from IDEA and one from UT Austin—and will have the option to accept or decline the college credit upon course completion. IDEA Toros’ dual enrollment courses from OnRamps include U.S History, Rhetoric, Economics, U.S. Government, PreCalculus, College Algebra, Chemistry 1, Physics 1, Computer Science and Arts and Entertainment Technologies.

This isn’t just dual enrollment—it’s a transformational model that gives students a head start on college success.”
