McAllen, Texas — DHR Health announces that they are changing their hours of operations at one of their Urgent Care locations in McAllen, Texas.  The facility located at 1421 N. Col. Rowe Blvd., in McAllen, will now offer services earlier to help serve the community.  With no appointments necessary, residents will now have access to the DHR Health Urgent Care from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

As one of the first to be certified by the Urgent Care Association of America for meeting national standards and criteria in the Rio Grande Valley, the DHR Health Urgent Care clinical team is comprised of physicians and advanced practice providers.  They provide patients with fast and affordable urgent care for non-life-threatening injuries or illnesses, such as the common cold, flu, wounds that may require stitches, allergic reactions and minor burns. Diagnostic testing and x-ray imaging is also available.

Urgent care fills the gap between primary care and hospital emergency rooms, offering increased convenience and cost-savings.  On average, DHR Health Urgent Care visits cost five to ten times less than a visit to the emergency room, including freestanding emergency rooms. While the average cost of a DHR Health Urgent Care visit is $150, most patients with insurance will only be responsible for their co-payment at the time of service.  Since DHR Health is a Veteran’s Administration Authorized Urgent Care Provider, there is no co-pay for veterans with VA insurance. DHR Health Urgent Care accepts commercial insurance, Veteran’s Administration, Medicare, Medicaid, self-payers and worker compensation plans.

Urgent care is a convenient and viable option for medical conditions that cannot wait for a scheduled appointment with a primary care physician or occur over the weekend and after hours.  All DHR Health Urgent Care facilities accept unscheduled, walk-in patients and provide treatment options for adults, adolescents and pediatric patients.
