Laredo, Texas – Vascular Dementia and Alzheimer’s are two different types of cognitive decline among the elderly population. Causes and treatments for the two spectrums are not the same, and the sooner we identify and treat, the better outcome.

The City of Laredo Health Department proudly announces a new program, “Elder Mental Health.” The program consists of a group of healthcare specialists from UTSA that include Neuropsychiatrist, Neuropsychologist, and Therapist that will diagnose and provide treatment options to those with cognitive decline.  If you know someone 65 or older with signs of cognitive decline, please emaillcerda@ci.laredo.tx.us or call 956-722-1804 Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Services are free of charge
