The Hidalgo County Health & Human Services Department has announced that no-cost COVID-19 testing at the Hidalgo County Public Health Laboratory will conclude on January 31, 2026.

Beginning February 1, 2026, low-cost laboratory testing services will be available. This includes COVID-19 testing, flu/strep tests, diabetes screenings and much more. 

Fees vary by test. Employees and members of the public seeking pricing or appointment information should contact the laboratory directly.
