EDINBURG, Texas: As part of its mission to deliver unparalleled medical care to the Rio Grande Valley, DHR Health is pleased to welcome Juan I. Sanchez, Jr., M.D. to its team of talented physicians. Dr. Sanchez will serve as a gastroenterologist and an advanced endoscopy specialist.

Born in McAllen and raised in Edinburg, Dr. Sanchez is fluent in both English and Spanish. He holds an impressive education and professional background. Dr. Sanchez earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in Biology in 2009. He then attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, graduating in 2014. His post graduate education and training includes a residency in Internal Medicine at Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina and two fellowships in Gastroenterology & Hepatology and Advanced Endoscopy, also at Duke University Medical Center. 

“Dr. Sanchez will be an integral part of the DHR Health Gastroenterology Team,” said DHR Health CEO Dr. Manish Singh. “He exemplifies DHR Health’s commitment to delivering the best in patient services and care. Dr. Sanchez will help DHR Health in our overall goal to improve access to healthcare.”

Dr. Sanchez joins DHR Health’s team of board-certified physicians specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions related to the esophagus, stomach, intestines, rectum, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas. DHR Health’s commitment to quality and safety is underscored by its certification from the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy since 2009.

“I’m honored to join the family at DHR Health Gastroenterology. As a native of Edinburg, this is truly a homecoming for me,” said Dr. Sanchez. “I’m excited to help bring high quality care to our community, and I look forward to working my esteemed colleagues to achieve this mission.”

Dr. Sanchez is now welcoming new patients at his offices located at 5520 Leonardo Da Vinci Drive and 1100 E. Dove Avenue.
