Dr. Elzaim utilized this breakthrough solution for the arthroscopic treatment of a massive irreparable rotator cuff tear. The surgery took place on June 29, 2023 at the DHR Health main hospital located at 5501 South McColl Road.

The InSpace balloon implant is designed to restore the subacromial space without requiring sutures or fixation devices and has been demonstrated to improve shoulder motion and function. Compared to other surgical procedures for the treatment of massive irreparable rotator cuff tears, it is also a shorter, less invasive option.

“Dr. Elzaim—along with all our other surgeons—perform the latest surgical techniques and are skilled in the use of new and innovative technologies. This is precisely why we are proud to bring the InSpace biodegradable subacromial balloon spacer to our continuum of shoulder patient care in the Rio Grande Valley.”
