The air purifiers are of medical grade quality and are also certified to remove 99.97% of all particles larger than 0.3 microns and up to 95% of all airborne contaminants as small as 0.1 microns, including viruses, bacteria, dust, dander, and allergens.

“This is an additional step that we are taking to ensure that we are doing everything possible for the health and safety of our students,” states Dr. Carol G. Perez, Mission CISD superintendent. “These purifying units will not only allow our students the ability to breathe quality but also help reduce allergens and other particles.”

The HealthMate Plus air purifier works on a 4-stage combination filter process. The Permafilt Pre-filter which is the first step captures particles easily seen by the naked eye, such as pet dander and large dust. The next step is the Medium Particle Filter that captures the allergens such as mold, pollen, and dust mites. The Carbon Blend Filter is where heavy odors, chemicals, gasses, fumes are absorbed. The last filter is Medical Grade HEPA that scrubs free the harmful bacteria and viruses.

District leadership works diligently in searching and seeking out new opportunities that are beneficial for our students not only academically but also that aid in them staying healthy. The district wants to assure that all our students continue to achieve academic success in a safe and healthy environment.
