EDINBURG, TX—It is with great pleasure that we announce our 4th Annual Gala to celebrate Valentine’s Day, on Saturday, February 14, at the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance. “Music & Romance, The Sinatra Years” will delight audience with Frank Sinatra’s classic hit songs performed by the UTPA Symphony Orchestra featuring Clint Holmes, renowned Las Vegas entertainer. Tickets include entrance to the show, heavy hors d’oeuvres, open champagne and wine bar, and dessert.

All proceeds will benefit the Renaissance Cancer Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance to cancer patients in the Rio Grande Valley, who are uninsured or underinsured, and fall below the 200% federal poverty guidelines. Last year alone, from January to October 2014, the foundation was able to donate a total of $121,026.42 in the following categories:

Household expenses – $68,735.67

[endif]Healthy Grocery Home Delivery Program for cancer patients – $12,808.55

Gas expense for medical appointments – $10,120.00

Medical and pharmacy expenses – $9,200.68

Transportation for medical appointments – $6,016.00

Accessories such as breast prosthesis, wigs, turbans and head scarves for hair loss – $5,650.90

Lodging for medical appointments out of town – $3,390.29

Massage therapy for cancer patients$3,025.00

Educational material on cancer prevention and early detection – $2,079.33

Ten events dedicated to cancer awareness and prevention
