Health and Human Services Department Chief Administrative Officer Eddie Olivarez, updated Commissioners Court on the health of undocumented immigrants being processed in Hidalgo County.

Olivarez stated that the HCHD has volunteer Physicians and Physician Assistants consulting the undocumented immigrants housed at the Sacred Heart Church in McAllen. Ā The medical staff has reported 7 to 8 cases of chicken pox, all in remission, and a few cases of scabies and lice. Ā There have been no cases of measles reported. Ā The medical staff is providing vaccines to the undocumented immigrants, when they are able.

Olivarez stated that he could not attest to the health situation at Lackland Air Force base in San Antonio or any immigrants that are not released locally. MDN
