McAllen – The aftermath of Hurricane Alex left behind a lot of flooding and devastation to Reynosa, Mexico. Thousands of people have lost their belongings, access to the essential resources to cover their basic needs, and in many cases, their homes.

To aid the Reynosa community in their time of need, the City of McAllen, McAllen Chamber of Commerce, the McAllen Economic

Development Corporation (MEDC) and the Hidalgo-Anzalduas International Bridge will coordinate efforts to send water cases for the people of Reynosa.

“We hope to provide the citizens of Reynosa some relief from the destructive flooding caused by hurricane Hanna,” said Luis Cantu,

Vice President for the McAllen Chamber of Commerce. “We also hope that Reynosa will soon recover from this devastation and want the people

of Reynosa to know that we never forget the relationship we have built together as sister cities for many years,” he said.

The Chamber contacted the City of Reynosa officials, and drinking water is at the top of their list needs.
