McAllen ISD recognized 22 students this year who earned their Certification as Pharmacy Technicians. This means they can go straight into the workforce and earn more than $25,800 per year at entry-wage level. They can be networking in the field of their choice while continuing with college. McAllen ISD offers professional licenses and certifications in 14 different career clusters. Students earning their Pharmacy Technician certificate can save families, on average, about $15,000 to $18,000 per year. This might not include textbooks and license and certification fees which McAllen ISD pays for as well. In fact, the District saved the families of these 22 students about $330,000.
