EDINBURG, Texas – From gravity-defying jumps to jaw-dropping stunts, Monster Jam® has thrilled generations of fans with its larger-than-life trucks and high-octane action.
Now, Rio Grande Valley families will have a unique opportunity to experience that excitement up close when El Toro Loco®, one of Monster Jam’s most iconic and recognizable trucks, makes a special appearance at South Texas Health System (STHS) Children’s.
On Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., STHS Children’s will partner with Feld Motor Sports to display the fan-favorite vehicle ahead of Monster Jam’s highly anticipated performances at Bert Ogden Arena on October 10 and 11.
Community members, hospital visitors and staff are invited to stop by campus to view the massive truck, learn more about its history and snap photos alongside the larger-than-life machine.
“Opportunities to get this close to a Monster Jam truck don’t come around every day,” says Tom Castañeda, System Director of Marketing & Public Relations, STHS. “We’re excited to invite the community to STHS Children’s to experience the sheer size and power of El Toro Loco firsthand and enjoy a one-of-a-kind event that will delight Monster Jam fans of all ages.”
Introduced in 2001, El Toro Loco has become one of the most beloved trucks in Monster Jam, known for its unmistakable bull-inspired design, fearless attitude and unforgettable performances in the arena.
“Few Monster Jam trucks generate as much excitement as El Toro Loco, especially here in the Rio Grande Valley, where the sport enjoys a tremendous following,” says Castañeda. “For many fans, seeing this iconic truck in person is a special treat. We’re thrilled to welcome the community to STHS Children’s for the chance to experience one of Monster Jam’s most popular attractions up close.”
STHS Children’s is also ensuring its youngest patients can share in the fun. The Auxiliary to STHS will host a special Monster Jam-themed coloring activity for pediatric patients, who will receive complimentary Monster Jam flags, hats and earmuffs courtesy of Feld Motor Sports.
“Every child deserves a reason to smile, especially when they’re in the hospital,” says Castañeda. “While families from across the Valley will have the opportunity to see El Toro Loco on our campus, we’re grateful to bring a little of that Monster Jam excitement directly to our patients so they don’t miss out on the experience and can create special memories during their stay.”
The patient activity will take place from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the STHS Children’s third-floor pediatric playroom.
