Dr. Lyuba Levine Celebrates 1000th Robotic-Assisted Surgical Procedure Milestone

EDINBURG, Texas – DHR Health proudly recognized gynecologic oncologist, Dr. Lyuba Levine, for having completed over 1,000 minimally invasive robotic-assisted procedures using the da Vinci surgical system at DHR Health Women’s Hospital. Levine is the only dual board-certified physician serving women in the Rio Grande Valley who specializes in both gynecologic oncology and obstetrics and gynecology. She has dedicated the past 25 years to this specialty, by providing world-class care to patients. Levine is highly specialized in the evaluation and treatment of women with gynecologic cancers, which include endometrial, ovarian, and cervical cancer, as well as complex and benign gynecologic conditions requiring surgery.

“It is with great pleasure that we recognize and congratulate Dr. Levine on this achievement. She is passionate about women’s health care and as a highly specialized physician in this area, her services are vital for women throughout our community,” said Marissa Castaneda, senior executive vice president for DHR Health.   

Throughout her career as a physician, Levine has always encouraged women to take ownership of their health, recognizing that women face unique health challenges from hormonal shifts to reproductive health and more.

In the area of robotic-assisted surgical care, Levine emphasized how this state-of-the-art technology offers patients quicker recovery times, smaller incisions, and lower risks of complications.
