Doctors Hospital at Renaissance Partners with the McAllen Police Department for the 15th Annual “Christmas for Kids” Toy Drive

McAllen, TX—Doctors Hospital at Renaissance Health System (DHR) will partner with the McAllen Police Department for the annual “Christmas for Kids” events. Christmas for Kids provides an extra dose of holiday cheer for children in the Rio Grande Valley as they are presented with toys, food, music and entertainment, and a holiday parade. 

DHR is honored to donate $5,000 to the 15th Annual Christmas for Kids! In the last twelve years, Doctors Hospital at Renaissance has donated over $165,000 to the McAllen Police Department for this event. DHR physicians and their families will gather with volunteers from across the Valley to distribute toys to kids during the event on Saturday, December 17th. Approximately 5,000 kids will receive toys donated and purchased with funds from generous members of the community. 

“We are pleased to partner with the McAllen Police Department and make this a brighter Christmas for our community children,” states Marissa Castañeda, Senior Executive Vice President for Doctors Hospital at Renaissance.

Team DHR will volunteer their time at the Christmas for Kids toy distribution on Saturday, December 17th, giving out toys, participating in fun games with the kids, marching in the parade, and providing music and entertainment. The event will begin at 9:00 AM at the McAllen Municipal Park, located at 1921 N. Bicentennial Blvd.
