Edinburg, TX— Mark your calendars now to join us for food and fun at the Dinner Tonight Healthy Cooking School, presented by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and DHR Health. This event will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance. The doors will open at 6:00 p.m.

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is excited to partner with the DHR Health Wellness Institute for Dinner Tonight Healthy Cooking School. “Our demonstration recipes are cost effective, easy to prepare and fit into a healthy meal plan. In today’s fast-paced lifestyle, nutrition and exercise don’t have to be on the back burner,” states Andrea Valdez, County Extension Agent for Hidalgo County, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. “Dinner Tonight is designed to help busy families enjoy healthy and delicious meals, and this special event will highlight diabetes-friendly recipes.”

During the cooking school, everyone will see demonstrations of quick and easy-to-make recipes from the Dinner Tonight Diabetes Edition recipe book recipes and receive free food samples. Dr. Dimple Desai with DHR Health Wellness Institute and Andrea Valdez with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will be conducting the food demonstrations on stage. Door prizes will be given throughout the event.

“Food is a powerful medicine that can be used to optimize health,” states Dr. Dimple Desai. “Join us to learn more about how powerful medicine nutrition is and ways to maximize nutrition in everyday meals.”
