EDINBURG, Texas – If you have undergone open-heart surgery and are looking to connect with others who understand the recovery journey, the DHR Health Cardiac and Open-Heart Support Group invites you to attend its monthly meetings. The group meets on the second Thursday of every month from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the DHR Health Rehabilitation Hospital, located at 5403 Doctors Drive in Edinburg.

The support group provides a welcoming and encouraging environment where heart surgery survivors and their caregivers can share experiences, offer support, and learn from one another.

“Our goal is to create meaningful connections among people who truly understand the challenges and triumphs of recovering from open-heart surgery,” said Bob Davis, support group organizer. “We also encourage individuals who are preparing for heart surgery to attend so they can learn from others who have been through the experience and gain confidence for the journey ahead.”

The DHR Health Cardiac and Open-Heart Support Group was established by DHR Health Cardiologist Dr. Hector Soto and Davis after recognizing the need for a support network for heart surgery patients and their families in the community.

The support group is free of charge and open to anyone who has undergone this procedure or is preparing for one. Caregivers of loved ones recovering from heart surgery are invited to attend. Light refreshments are provided at each meeting.
