RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas – As part of its ongoing commitment to expanding access to outstanding healthcare throughout the Rio Grande Valley, DHR Health is pleased to welcome Dr. Tess Hill to its growing team of physicians. Dr. Hill joins DHR Health as an otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat physician) and looks forward to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
Dr. Hill diagnoses and treats a wide range of ear, nose and throat conditions, including hearing loss, ear infections, tinnitus, sinus and allergy problems, nasal congestion, tonsillitis, swallowing and voice disorders, and sleep apnea. She also performs a broad range of surgical procedures, including sinus surgery, ear surgery, thyroid and salivary gland surgery, and implantation of devices for the treatment of sleep apnea. She also evaluates and treats head and neck tumors and cancers.

A native of San Pedro, California, Dr. Hill earned her bachelor’s degree in Integrative Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, before completing her medical degree at California North State University, College of Medicine in Elk Grove, California. She then completed her residency at the University of Texas Health San Antonio.
While completing her residency in Head and Neck Surgery, Dr. Hill was diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma, the most common form of thyroid cancer. She underwent surgery to remove her thyroid gland (called total thyroidectomy) and then was trained to perform this procedure alongside the surgeons who performed her own surgery. With her experience, both as a patient and as a provider, Dr. Hill possesses the compassion and skill to care for patients when they are most in need.
When she is not caring for patients, Dr. Hill enjoys watching classic films, testing her knowledge at trivia nights, discovering new restaurants, preparing healthy home-cooked meals, and spending time with her husband and pets. One of her favorite conversation starters is her three-legged cat, who has chronic sinusitis and continues to thrive.
“During my training at UT Health San Antonio, I had the pleasure of treating patients from all over South Texas, including those from the Rio Grande Valley. I learned that the RGV is filled with grateful and kind people who frequently travel hours to receive their medical care. I now look forward to joining DHR to help expand the resources for specialist care in the Valley,” said Dr. Hill.
