Edinburg, TX – DHR Health Gastroenterology Institute is proud to announce the recent addition of board-certified gastroenterologist and advanced endoscopy specialist Dr. Sandeep Patel. Dr. Patel is also a leader in clinical, educational and research programs and served as the founding director of the Advanced Endoscopy Program at UT Health San Antonio for 17 years. 

After graduating from the University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri, Dr. Patel completed his residency in internal medicine at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center with Tufts University with Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. He is fellowship trained in gastroenterology and in gastroenterology interventional endoscopy and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in his field to the Rio Grande Valley.

Dr. Patel established training programs that have been instrumental in the global development of a pancreas program that delivers superb, specialized patient care, and enhances academic missions in physician education and research.

Dr. Patel will see patients in need of pancreatico-biliary disease management, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, and endoscopic ultrasound.
