McAllen, Harlingen, and Brownsville, Texas: Dedicated to expanding access to top-quality healthcare in the Rio Grande Valley, DHR Health proudly welcomes Dr. Alastair Lynn-Macrae, Dr. Keith Picou, Dr. Charles Theivagt, and Dr. James Turner Wright to our Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) team. These highly experienced, board-certified otolaryngologists provide comprehensive care for patients of all ages, from children to seniors, addressing a wide range of conditions including allergies, sinus issues, thyroid disorders, hearing loss, and head and neck tumors. In addition to ENT services, Dr. Picou will also offer dermatology services. With expertise in minimally invasive procedures like balloon sinuplasty, this team is dedicated to improving patients’ health and quality of life while delivering exceptional care to the Rio Grande Valley.

Dr. Alastair Lynn-Macrae earned his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in New York, followed by an otolaryngology residency at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago. Dr. Lynn-Macrae is board-certified in both otolaryngology and sleep medicine.

Dr. Keith Picou completed his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where he also pursued a dermatology residency, before completing an otolaryngology residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. Following his residency, he served for 3 years overseas at the United States Army 97th General Field Hospital in Nuremberg, West Germany. He has been practicing in the valley since 1987 in both dermatology and otolaryngology.

Dr. Charles Theivagt received his medical degree from Southern Illinois University and completed an otolaryngology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.

Dr. James Turner Wright earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and completed his otolaryngology residency at Duke University in North Carolina.

Each of these highly skilled otolaryngologists bring extensive years of experience in treating conditions related to the ears, nose, and throat. Breathing is something we often take for granted, but when issues like allergies or sleep apnea arise, they can severely affect quality of life. With a steadfast commitment to patient-centered care, this team is dedicated to helping individuals breathe easier and live healthier, more fulfilling lives, free from the challenges of impaired breathing.

All four doctors will see patients at the DHR Health Ear, Nose, and Throat Institute in McAllen, located at 2101 S. Cynthia, Plex A. Additionally, Dr. Wright and Dr. Theivagt will also see patients at the DHR Health Ear, Nose, and Throat Institute in Brownsville, located at 4770 N.
