The Texas Physician Assistant Board’s Presiding Officer, Karrie Lynn Crosby, PA-C, MPAS, issued the following statement acknowledging “PA Week,” which celebrates the physician assistant profession every year from October 6-12:

“On behalf of the Texas Physician Assistant Board, I extend our sincere gratitude to the more than 13,500 licensed physician assistants serving across the state of Texas as we celebrate PA Week. This annual event, observed from October 6-12, offers an opportunity to honor and recognize the remarkable contributions physician assistants make to the health and well-being of Texans.

“For the past 30 years, physician assistants in Texas have been instrumental in addressing healthcare shortages and ensuring access to quality medical care across all specialties and settings. The PA profession has seen tremendous growth, both statewide and nationally, with more than 168,000 licensed PAs in the United States today—a number that continues to rise in response to the evolving needs of healthcare.
