Edinburg, TX — DHR Health Clinics is pleased to announce the addition of neurosurgeon, Jacinto I. Mañon, M.D., F.A.A.N.S, to the DHR Health Neuroscience Institute. Dr. Mañon is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons, and will be treating adult and pediatric patients for brain, spinal, and peripheral nerve problems.  

He will provide surgical treatments for a wide-spectrum of conditions affecting the nervous system including but not limited to spinal stenosis, spine fractures, adult scoliosis, brain hemorrhage, stroke, herniated or bulging discs, degenerative disc disease, traumatic brain injury, chiari malformations, pituitary tumors, neck and back pain, arm and leg pain, brain tumors, cranial and spinal trauma, spinal cord injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, and peripheral nerve. 

Dr. Mañon earned his medical degree from the Ibero-American University in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic before entering his internship in general surgery at the Albert Einstein Med Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  After finding his passion in the field, he pursued neurosurgery training at the University of Colorado and West Virginia University to culminate neurological surgery residency. Subsequently, he completed a complex/reconstructive spine fellowship at the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor.

In addition to his extensive medical experience, Dr. Mañon is the author of various publications, book chapters, abstracts and presentations.  He is also a member of several professional societies, including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.   

Dr. Mañon will be seeing patients at the DHR Health Neuroscience Institute, located at 1200 E. Savannah, Ste.3, McAllen, Texas.  As a Joint Commission Certified Stroke Center and Level I Comprehensive Stroke Center, the Neuroscience Institute, offers premiere care for minimally invasive neurosurgery and is home to the first and only fellowship trained spine surgeons in the region.
