McAllen, TX. — April is oral cancer awareness month and Prominence Health Plan has coordinated free dental screenings for seniors in McAllen. According to a study by the Oral Cancer Foundation, nearly 54,000 Americans will be diagnosed with oral oropharyngeal cancer this year, causing over 9,750 deaths, killing roughly 1 person per hour, 24 hours per day. As part of continuing efforts to care about the community Prominence Health Plan wants you to be mouth aware. 

The screenings are pain free and will be held every Friday in April from 9AM to 12PM. Each screening takes three minutes – three minutes that could help save a life!
