The City of McAllen and McAllen Public Library are proud to celebrate McAllen Public Library Director, Kate P. Horan, for being featured in a prominent international publication, now available to the public. The book, World’s Leading National, Public, Monastery and Royal Library Directors, published by De Gruyter Publishers, showcases the world’s best librarians. Horan is one of only 28 librarians to be honored with a dedicated chapter.

There will be a book launch for the publication on Thursday, November 16, at 11:00 a.m. in the McAllen Public Library lobby, 4001 N. 23rd Street. Light refreshments will be served.

“Kate is enthusiastic, innovative and devoted to her job. She is passionate about providing library services to children and youth and she is an asset to our community,” McAllen Mayor Jim Darling said. “It is a well-deserved recognition.”
