In a special visit, beloved Disney On Ice stars will bring smiles, laughter and a touch of fairy tale magic to hospitalized children.

From iconic favorites like Mickey and Minnie Mouse to modern heroines like Elsa, Moana and Mirabel, Disney stories have inspired wonder and imagination in children for generations.

Now, that sense of wonder is coming to South Texas Health System (STHS) Children’s, where young patients will enjoy an afternoon filled with fun, laughter and memorable experiences.

Ahead of the highly anticipated Disney On Ice presents Magic in the Stars performances at Bert Ogden Arena, STHS Children’s is partnering with Feld Entertainment on Wednesday, October 28, to bring a taste of the spectacular production directly to pediatric patients and their families.

As part of the celebration, patients will enjoy a Disney-themed coloring party featuring games, activities and giveaways, along with the opportunity to meet a professional Disney On Ice skater.

The day’s biggest surprise will be the appearance of a beloved Disney friend, giving children the chance to pose for photos and create magical memories with one of the characters they know and love.

To ensure every patient can share in the experience, those unable to leave their rooms due to medical restrictionswill receive bedside visits from the costumed guest.

“Being in the hospital can be especially difficult for children, particularly when they’re missing out on activities and experiences they would normally enjoy,” said Cat Domian, MSN, RN, Chief Nursing Officer, STHS Edinburg and STHS Children’s. “That’s why opportunities like this are so meaningful. Seeing our patients’ faces light up when they meet a character they’ve only watched on screen is truly unforgettable.”

Featuring 56 Disney characters, Disney On Ice presents Magic in the Stars brings cherished stories to life through world-class figure skating, breathtaking acrobatics, vibrant costumes and dazzling special effects. The production showcases characters from Frozen 2, Encanto, Moana 2, Wish, Raya and the Last Dragon and other fan-favorite Disney adventures.

Disney On Ice presents Magic in the Stars will take place at Bert Ogden Arena from Thursday, October 29, through Sunday, November 1, 2026.

In addition to enjoying the show, families can help support local pediatric patients through a special fundraising partnership benefiting the STHS Children’s Child Life Program. For every ticket purchased through a designated link, $2 will be donated to the program to help provide comfort, emotional support and therapeutic activities for hospitalized children and their families.

“We’re grateful to partner with Feld Entertainment on an initiative that not only creates lasting memories for families attending Disney On Ice, but also supports children receiving care at STHS Children’s,” said Tom Castañeda, System Director of Marketing & Public Relations, STHS. “Every ticket purchased through this program helps us enhance the services and experiences offered through our Child Life Program, bringing comfort, joy and a sense of normalcy to children during their hospital stay.”
