HARLINGEN/BROWNSVILLE — With the end of 2017 fast approaching, Valley Baptist Health System has scheduled a number of seminars to help the community take steps toward a healthier life just in time for the holidays.

Dubbed “Healthy for the Holidays”, the events are scheduled at both Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen and Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville and are focused on orthopedics, cardiology, and bariatric weight loss. The events are planned as open houses, where attendees can learn about treatment options, hear from nurses regarding the care they will receive, and talk to former patients about their experiences. In addition, local residents will have the opportunity to meet physicians and office staff and even schedule appointments during the events.

The “Healthy for the Holidays” series kicks off this Wednesday, September 27 with a “Take the Weight Off” bariatric weight loss seminar scheduled from 6 – 7:30 p.m. in the Valley Baptist-Harlingen Woodward Conference Center located through the South Tower Lobby at 2101 Pease Street. During the event, attendees will hear from bariatric surgeons regarding a number of surgical weight loss procedures, as well as learn more about healthy eating through a cooking demonstration.
