Each year, surgeons perform approximately 52 million surgical procedures in the United States, per the CDC, with procedures ranging from hysterectomies and C-sections to total knee replacements and open-heart surgeries.

In recent years, South Texas Health System Edinburg – the only Valley facility named a Best Regional Hospital by U.S. News and World Report – has seen a double-digit increase in surgical cases, leading to the expansion of the facility’s surgical suite.

In the coming weeks, STHS Edinburg – accredited as a Center of Excellence in robotic, minimally invasive and hernia surgery by the Surgical Review Corporation – will officially open two new operating rooms.
