Edinburg, Texas – DHR Health is excited to announce the addition of Dr. Julian Velez to our world class rehabilitation team.

Dr. Velez is fellowship trained in traumatic brain injury and polytrauma, specializing in enhancing and restoring functional ability and quality of life to people with physical impairments or disabilities. 

Utilizing the most advanced technology, Dr. Velez will provide treatment for patients who have suffered injury or a disability affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. His expertise is instrumental to patient care on in inpatient and outpatient basis.

Dr. Velez received his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He attended Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York, where he completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He also completed a fellowship in traumatic brain injury and polytrauma at Audie Murphy VA/ Polytrauma Rehab Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Velez knows the Rio Grande Valley well having attended UTRGV in Edinburg, and receiving a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2010.

In addition to his education and experience, Dr. Velez is also a member of the Association of Academic Physiatrists, American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and American Medical Association.
