Preparations are underway for the 13th Annual McAllen Marathon Scott Crane Run, presented by H-E-B Helping Here, as the City of McAllen readies to welcome thousands of runners and spectators for one of South Texas’ premier running events on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

Soon, the streets of McAllen will come alive with athletes from across the nation and beyond, reflecting the City’s continued commitment to health, wellness, and community engagement. Since its inaugural race in 2013, the McAllen Marathon has grown to attract runners from more than 17 states and three countries, establishing itself as a nationally recognized event.

All races including the full marathon, half marathon, relay marathon, 10K, 5K, and Kids Final Mile will take place on the same day, starting and finishing at the McAllen Convention Center, located at 700 Convention Center Blvd., with races beginning at 7:00 a.m. 

The event features a flat, fast, USATF-certified course that serves as an official Boston Marathon qualifier, making it an ideal race for competitive and recreational runners alike.

Those interested in participating are encouraged to register online through January 16, 2026, by visiting www.mcallenmarathon.com. All registered participants will receive a race shirt, finisher medal, and swag bag.

Registration fees are as follows:
$120 – Full Marathon
$100 – Half Marathon
$330 – Relay Marathon
$45 – 10K
$35 – 5K

In addition to race day activities, runners and spectators are invited to attend the McAllen Marathon Health & Wellness Expo on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the McAllen Convention Center Exhibit Hall, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., where runners may pick up their race packets and bags.

The EXTRA Mile Post-Race Celebration will feature food booths and wellness vendors for family members of runners. This will be in the Oval Park of the Convention Center, and is sponsored by H-E-B Helping Here, Kemper Insurance, Clark Chevrolet, Zambrano Law Firm, Moveo Performance, L&F Distributors–Michelob Ultra, The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and the McAllen International Airport.

The McAllen Marathon Scott Crane Running Series keeps runners moving all year long. The series includes the MXLAN Neon Nights 5K, Independence 4K, Fright Nite 5K, and Turkey Trot 5K/10K. Runners who completed the series in 2025, will earn a Complete Series Medal, to be presented at the 13th annual McAllen Marathon.
