Edinburg, Texas: The Renaissance Cancer Foundation, a distinguished non-profit organization affiliated with DHR Health, proudly announced it surpassed its fundraising goal at the recent Ritmo en Fuego gala held on December 15, 2023 at the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance. This year’s event raised an impressive $479,073 that will continue to provide vital support for underserved cancer patients in Hidalgo, Cameron, Starr, and Willacy Counties.

Executive Director Evelyn Saenz expressed her gratitude for the collective efforts that led to the success of the event. She specifically acknowledged the event’s platinum sponsors, which included Bert Ogden Auto Group, DHR Health, Lone Star National Bank, Millennium Copier Systems and Supplies, Luby’s Culinary Services, Dale Linebarger and Family, and Juan and Diana Peña.

The annual gala is the non-profit’s signature fundraising event that enables the organization to fulfill its mission of assisting underserved cancer patients through a variety of ways including financial aid, transportation support, oncology wigs and more. This year’s gala featured a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception, a silent auction, and live music headlined by the multi-talented Republic of the Music band from San Diego, California. Post-gala festivities offered attendees the chance to “meet and greet” the band.
