Edinburg, Texas: DHR Health is delighted to announce Scott Lillibridge, MD, as the new Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer for the DHR Health Institute for Research and Development. Dr. Lillibridge brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise in global health, epidemiology, and research leadership.

“Dr. Lillibridge’s appointment to the research arm of our organization underscores our commitment to driving innovation in healthcare. His extensive experience in advancing health services to communities and dedication to the field of medicine aligns perfectly with our mission to enhance healthcare access and outcomes for citizens of the Rio Grande Valley,” said Dr. Manish Singh, DHR Health Chief Executive Officer.

Before joining DHR Health, Dr. Lillibridge served as the Associate Vice President for Global Health at Texas A&M Health Science Center. In this role, he provided leadership for multicenter research, education, and community health services, particularly in South Texas. His previous positions include Chief Scientist for the University’s Pandemic Vaccine development enterprise and Professor of Epidemiology at the Texas A&M University School of Public Health.

Dr. Lillibridge’s distinguished federal career with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) includes serving as Special Assistant to the Secretary for the Department of Health and Human Services, Director for the CDC Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Program, and Medical Director for the US Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (USAID). 

He received his B.S. in Environmental Health from East Tennessee State University, a Medical Doctorate from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, completed specialty training in Family Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and undertook an Epidemiology Fellowship with the CDC Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS).

“My primary goal at DHR Health is to expand the multi-disciplinary clinical research capacity and bring advanced treatment options to our community. I am glad to call the Rio Grande Valley my new home and look forward to making a positive impact on the lives of those I have the privilege to serve,” said Dr. Lillibridge.
