Edinburg, Texas: DHR Health, the largest physician-owned hospital in the United States, is delighted to announce the addition of Dr. Neel T. Patel to its distinguished Neuroscience team. Dr. Patel will serve as a neurosurgeon, diagnosing and surgically treating disorders of the central and peripheral nervous systems, including the brain, spinal cord, spinal column, and peripheral nerves throughout the body. Dr. Patel’s particular area of focus will be all spine and peripheral nerve needs utilizing the most advanced procedures and technologies. He is currently accepting new patients at his office located at 5519 Doctor’s Drive in Edinburg.

“It is with great pleasure that we welcome Dr. Patel to the DHR Health family,” said Marissa Castaneda, Senior Executive Vice President at DHR Health. “His commitment to advancing neurosurgical techniques and improving patient outcomes aligns perfectly with our mission.”

Dr. Patel received his Bachelor’s degree graduating with honors from Rutgers University in New Jersey in 2013. He then attended medical school at Penn State University’s Milton S. Hershey College of Medicine in Pennsylvania, graduating in 2017. Dr. Patel completed his residency training in Neurological Surgery at Penn State Hershey Medical Center and pursued additional training in peripheral nerve studies. He recently finished an enfolded fellowship in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery at the Swedish Neuroscience Institute in Seattle, Washington. Post fellowship he went to Australian Institute of Musculoskeletal Research in Sydney, Australia to learn endoscopic spine surgery. He is currently working on his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Penn State World Campus. Dr. Patel is a member of many medical associations including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, American Medical Association, and Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He has authored several publications and has presented extensively in his field.

As a neurosurgeon, Dr. Patel is committed to delivering the highest level of complex care for patients. He will work closely with his colleagues, including specialists in neurology and neurointerventional radiology.
