BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Beginning August 31, 2026, patients living in the lower Rio Grande Valley, will have access to advanced vascular surgical services at the DHR Health Brownsville Multispecialty Clinic, located next to its hospital, DHR Health Brownsville, at 4770 N. Expressway. Dr. Gabriel Gonzalez will provide these services, specializing in peripheral arterial disease, limb salvage, carotid artery disease, aneurysmal disease, dialysis access, venous disorders, and vascular trauma.

A Rio Grande Valley native, Dr. Gonzalez earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston before completing his general surgery residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. He went on to complete a specialized fellowship in vascular surgery at the same institution.

In addition to his dual board certifications in general and vascular surgery, Dr. Gonzalez holds the Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) credential, demonstrating his expertise in interpreting noninvasive vascular studies. Previously, he served as a vascular surgeon at John Peter Smith Hospital’s Level I Trauma Center in Fort Worth, Texas.

“I look forward to providing comprehensive vascular care to patients in the lower Rio Grande Valley region,” said Dr. Gonzalez. “I will work with each of my patients to provide personalized treatment plans that will ultimately improve their quality of life and long-term vascular health.”
