EDINBURG, Texas – DHR Health Continuing Medical Education Department will host its 2nd Annual Wound Care Symposium from 7:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on June 21, 2025, at the Edinburg Conference Center of Renaissance located at 118 Paseo Del Prado. The event is targeted for physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and those who have direct patient care. Interested attendees from DHR Health, or other hospitals or medical organizations, may attend. A small tuition fee will be charged, and educational credit will be given.

Leading the conference will be longtime wound care physician and Rio Grande Valley native, Dr. Noel Oliveira. Oliveira is a certified wound specialist physician who treats difficult non-healing wounds through the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy and other advanced wound care modalities. He opened the first wound care center in the RGV and he has dedicated over 22 years of his practice to hyperbaric medicine and wound care treatment. In addition to being a wound specialist, Oliveira chairs the DHR Health Continuing Medical Education Committee.

“This wound care symposium offers healthcare providers a pivotal opportunity to maximize competence with awareness on wound treatment,” said Oliveira, “Equipping professionals with knowledge on the latest recommendations for Hospital Acquired Pressure Injuries is essential to develop new skills and improve the optimal delivery of patient care.”
