WESLACO, Texas – IDEA Public Schools in the Rio Grande Valley has partnered with Procare to host 17 low-cost immunization clinics to make sure all IDEA Public Schools students in the RGV are ready to head back to school this August. The clinics are part of IDEA’s Health and Wellness team’s mission to ensure all children are safe and healthy at school.

The 17 immunization clinics will start on Thursday, July 24 and run through Monday, August 11. All clinics will be held on IDEA campuses throughout the RGV and are open to all IDEA students who need immunizations before the first day of school. Families are encouraged to bring their child’s vaccine card to get updated. All vaccines required in the state of Texas for students to attend class will be available. Most private insurance, including Medicaid, will be accepted at the clinics. For those without insurance, the vaccines will cost seven dollars each. Cash and cards will be accepted for payment. Some of the clinics are open to non-IDEA students. For non-IDEA families, please contact the clinic directly.

“We are grateful to Procare to help us make sure every child is up to date on their vaccines so there is no delay in their learning,” said Eva Rodriguez, Vice President of Student Health & Wellness at IDEA Public Schools. “Our goal is to make sure every child is safe, healthy, and ready to attend class.”
