For the first time, the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) First Responders will have access to a unique Mental Health model that combines telehealth medical services with trauma-based mental healthcare.  The First Hero program, with Reliant ID, has created a platform unlike any other in Texas.  By combining both pharmacological, medical, and mental health services, First Responders will now have access to a true multi-disciplinary approach to their overall wellbeing.

Reliant ID is based in Austin, TX and has a nationwide provider network of Physicians, Nurse Practitioners and Therapists; allowing them to provide coverage across all 50 states. Reliant’s enhanced virtual care platform combines proprietary technology and clinicians for virtual and on-site visits with integrated triage, diagnostics, and treatment.

Beginning October 1st, the RGV First Responders can access these services, at any time and on demand, with complete confidentiality and anonymity from the comfort of the cars, homes, or coffee drive-thru.  This program will be at no cost to the first responder.

The First Hero pilot program in the Rio Grande Valley allows Reliant ID a chance to give back by not only serving our heroes, but by displaying the critical need of addressing first responder trauma and PTSD from all aspects of holistic care and wellness. The agencies or counties that enter the First Hero program are offered access to medication, behavioral therapy, substance use treatment, and so much more.

As of today, this program will include Alton Police Department, Alton Fire Department, and the La Joya Police Department but many more are expected to join the program in the next few weeks.  The First Hero team of trauma professionals stand at the ready to serve those who protect and serve us.
