Edinburg, TX – DHR Health is excited welcome Relindis N. Azenwi Fru, M.D. to their compassionate team of hematologists and oncologists at the DHR Health Oncology Institute in Edinburg, TX. 

Prior to joining DHR Health, Dr. Azenwi Fru was a Resident Physician in the Department of Internal Medicine at The University of Texas Medical Branch – Galveston, and a Fellowship Physician of Hematology and Oncology at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence, RI shortly after receiving a Doctor of Medicine from The Commonwealth Medical College in Scranton, PA in 2015. 

She has been board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine since 2018, and is a member of the American College of Physicians and Texas Medical Association.

The dedicated team player is also a proud Captain in the US Army Reserve.

Dr. Azenwi Fru is credited with creating a community outreach program to promote cervical cancer awareness and provide affordable screening and immunizations in the local communities of the South West Region of Cameroon. As a member of the Cameroonian-American Foundation of Michigan, the well-rounded Dr. Azenwi Fru educated teens and adolescents of African descent on the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse.

She will play an integral part in providing extensive medical care, treatment and support to cancer patients in the Rio Grande Valley.

When she isn’t treating cancer patients and encouraging cancer awareness, Dr. Azenwi spends time cooking and dancing to African folk music with her children and husband.
