EDINBURG – A Regional Infusion Center (RIC) for COVID-19 in Cameron County opened its doors and is accepting referrals for pediatric and adult patients. The function of this RIC is to provide outpatient single infusion treatment of Monoclonal Antibodies as allowed under the Emergency Use Authorization for those patients who meet criteria.

“I am grateful to hear of this news from Cameron County Judge Eddie Treviño Jr.  today. As we are working together as a region, our hope is to assist with lessening hospitalizations of patients with mild to moderate symptoms who may be treated via outpatient infusion,” says Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez.

Due to the specialty of this RIC, it will function by referral and appointment only. In order to obtain an appointment, the patient must be referred by a provider.
