Pharr, TX – Behavioral Health Solutions and Empowering Communities is proud to present the 2021 Community Health Worker Conference occurring on Thursday, August 26th from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm via Zoom. This is a FREE conference focused on evidence-based solutions to strengthen families and communities. We encourage our community health workers, CHWs, to register to learn more on topics such as Motivational Interviewing, Self-Care, Verbal Intervention Skills, and Engaging Youth.

According to the American Public Health Association a CHW is a frontline public health worker who is a trusted member of and/or has an unusually close understanding of the community served. The Rio Grande Valley is home to many CHWs, or promotoras(es), and their trusting relationships with the community help link underserved populations to important health/social services.

The 2021 Community Health Worker Conference will be bilingual, and attendees will receive certificates of attendance for their participation. Additionally, the first 100 to register will receive a conference swag bag. To learn more or register please visit https://rb.gy/1fycty or contact Gloria Cortez at (956) 398-8530 / mcortez@bhsst.org
